At Alaric Sympathy, we understand that arranging flowers during times of loss can be emotional and time sensitive. Our policies are designed to be clear, fair and supportive, while ensuring that we can create and deliver your arrangements with the level of care and professionalism you expect from us.

Refund & Replacement Policy

We guarantee the quality and freshness of every arrangement. If you are not completely satisfied, please contact us at 212.308.3794 within 24 hours of delivery.

Refunds or replacements can only be issued if we are notified within this 24-hour window. Flowers are perishable and proper care is required upon receipt. The recipient is responsible for following any care instructions provided.

Once an arrangement has been prepared or dispatched for delivery, it is no longer eligible for cancellation or refund. For funeral and memorial work, preparation typically begins well in advance of the service time.

Substitutions Policy

We always aim to match the style, colour palette and spirit of the designs shown on our website. However, due to market and seasonal availability—particularly for last-minute and same-day orders—substitutions may sometimes be necessary. When substitutions are made, we always use flowers of equal or greater value.

Order Changes & Cancellations

Changes or cancellations must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time. After this point, flowers are often already ordered, prepared or in transit, and changes may not be possible.

Funeral & Memorial Delivery Terms

We deliver to funeral homes, chapels, synagogues, crematoriums, places of worship, residential addresses and offices across our service area.

  • We always aim to deliver 1–2 hours before the service whenever possible.
  • Funeral homes may have strict receiving windows; we may contact them directly to confirm timing.
  • Alaric Sympathy is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect delivery information, changes in service time, venue changes, or if the recipient/funeral home is not available to receive flowers.
  • If a service time changes without notification, we will attempt redelivery, but refunds cannot be issued.

Same-Day Delivery & Cut-Off Times

Same-day delivery is available across Manhattan for orders placed by approximately 2:00pm (New York time), subject to flower availability, courier schedules and weather conditions.

Same-day delivery to Brooklyn and Queens may require additional time and carries a slightly higher delivery fee. We recommend calling us for any urgent or time-sensitive requests.

Service Area & Delivery Fees

We deliver to all of Manhattan south of 126th Street, and to selected neighborhoods in Brooklyn (Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Fort Greene) and Queens (Long Island City, Astoria). Deliveries outside Manhattan may incur an adjusted delivery fee.

Order Processing & Delivery Conditions

  • We require full payment before an order is accepted.
  • If a delivery address is incorrect or incomplete, we will contact you to clarify. Redelivery fees may apply.
  • No guarantees can be made for delays caused by traffic, weather or building access restrictions.
  • If the recipient cannot be reached by phone and access is not possible, we will attempt redelivery or arrange collection, but refunds cannot be issued for unsuccessful delivery attempts.

Custom Tributes & Special Requests

Custom tributes—including casket sprays, large standing sprays, hearts, crosses, name tributes and special designs—may require extended preparation time and cannot be cancelled on short notice once materials have been ordered or work has begun.

Pet Memorial Flowers

We understand how deeply the loss of a pet can be felt. We offer gentle, thoughtful designs for pet memorials. Policies for pet tribute orders follow the same guidelines as standard sympathy and funeral arrangements.

Peak Floral Periods

During peak floral periods such as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and major Jewish holidays, certain flowers may be more limited and pricing may vary due to market conditions. We will always advise you of any necessary substitutions or adjustments.

All personal information provided to complete your order is kept strictly confidential. We do not share your information with any third party.

Terms of Service

Alaric Sympathy cannot guarantee the availability of all flower varieties at all times. Substitutions may be made to maintain the colour palette, style and value of the arrangement. By placing an order, you agree to our policies regarding substitutions, delivery conditions and order changes or cancellations.
